Kåre Kolve is a Norwegian jazz musician and saxophone player. He was born in 1964 in Voss, a town known for its rich musical heritage. He studied jazz at the Trondheim Music Conservatory, where he participated in several bands and projects. He has released three albums with his own Kåre Kolve Quartet, featuring original compositions and arrangements. He has also collaborated with famous artists and bands such as Randy Crawford, Lava, Mezzoforte, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Ole Edvard Antonsen, and Dance with a Stranger. He is a versatile and creative musician who can play different genres and influences, from jazz fusion to salsa to pop. He is also a teacher and a master’s degree holder in performing jazz. He is one of the most respected and experienced jazz musicians in Norway, having participated on more than 140 recordings.
